AATMA Performing Arts aims to unite traditional Indian dance styles (Bharathanatyam, Kathak, Garba, Bhangra) with modern forms of movement (Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop), resulting in a vivid amalgamation of eastern and western culture. AATMA's interpretation of Bollywood dance, which originates from Indian cinema, combines ethnic spirit and intense emotion to produce a breathtaking visual display of dance and entertainment.

AATMA's work has been featured in publications including The New York Times and has landed the company performances with HBO, AT&T, HSBC, Bank of America, and Mastercard. They have worked alongside Bollywood Actress, Priyanka Chopra as well as choreographed pieces for music artists such as Cappadonna (Wu-Tang) and G-Deep.

With a dance troupe that travels internationally, as well as competitive dance schools in New York and New Jersey, AATMA's focus is to preserve the culture of India, while incorporating it with American dance influences to create a brilliant fusion of art powerful enough to be understood by audiences around the world.

Amit Shah, founder and creative director of AATMA Performing Arts, is a respected Bollywood choreographer and production master. Known for his critical eye and creative disposition, Amit has years of experience with dance, theater, and media. His unique dance style merges strength and sensuality, while his perception of choreography combines both a dancer's emotions and an audience's virtual experience.

While establishing the AATMA Performing Arts dance company in 2008, Amit has had the opportunity to work on Bollywood film sets with top actors such as Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Genelia D'Souza, and Shahrukh Khan's production company, Red Chillies Productions. His choreography has been featured on stage with Miss World Priyanka Chopra and in several music videos and films including Cappadonna & G-Deep's music video, "Nach Leh".

Amit's work with dance and production has exceptional accolades with the media such as The New York Times, Zee TV, TV Asia, and AVS.
